York City Knights produced a superb first-half performance that set the platform for a 40-16 victory over Whitehaven, the first the club has secured since 1992. The Knights secured their third consecutive Betfred Championship victory with a 14-16 win at Widnes Vikings but, after an under-par performance, were made to work for it by the hosts. Heading to Cheshire on the back of two Jubilee Weekend wins over Sheffield Eagles and London Broncos, the Knights had already bounced back from their first league defeat since February against Halifax Panthers. York City Knights came from behind to earn a dramatic victory against the London Broncos at the LNER Community Stadium as AJ Towse and Liam Harris scored braces to give James Ford’s side a 36-34 win. York City Knights produced a heroic defensive display in the second period to leave Cumbria with the two points this evening in front of the Premier Sports cameras, defeating Barrow Raiders 18-30 at Craven Park. For the first twenty minutes of the second period, the Knights had to defend solely in their twenty with the Raiders forcing several repeat sets.
