Aydin signs on loan from Wakefield

York City Knights can announce the signing of Wakefield Trinity forward Yusuf Aydin on an initial two-week loan deal.

Aydin, 20, made his Super League debut for the Betfred Super League club last season against Hull FC and made his international bow for Turkey in 2019 in a match against Malta in Sydney.

The acquisition of Aydin means Knights Head Coach James Ford has further options available in his pack for the coming weeks.

Of the Turkey international’s signing, Ford said: “He was in my last form as a teacher. He’s always shown a pretty solid attitude towards learning and he is a tough, uncompromising middle who brings some aggression to the team.”

On signing for the Knights, Aydin said: “I’m here to get some more game time and experience. I want to learn off these lads and, hopefully, they can learn a bit from me as well.

“I had Fordy as a teacher and, if his coaching is anything like that, he’s just straight and direct with you as well as wanting the best for you.”

Aydin could make his debut against Sheffield Eagles this Sunday, kicking off at 7:30pm live on the Our League app.
