Ford names squad to face rivals Bradford

The Knights men travel to face rivals Bradford Bulls on Sunday for the first time in 2022, looking to continue a strong start to this season and avenge the home and away double the Bulls inflicted on the Knights in 2021.

With eight wins from the opening ten rounds, James Ford has the benefit of needing to make minimal alterations to his preliminary squad with only Pauli Pauli dropping out from the matchday seventeen that defeated Barrow Raiders last time out.

The former Wakefield Trinity and Salford Red Devils man was hit with a two-match ban from the victory in Cumbria, a ban that will see him miss our trip to Bradford and next weekend’s home match against Halifax Panthers.

His absence will see an enforced change in the front row with one of Jack Teanby, Ronan Dixon, Marcus Stock and Joe Porter set to start alongside Masi Matongo in the pack.

Jamie Ellis, a returnee to the matchday squad last time out from the interchange bench, continues his comeback from a hamstring injury and will be vying with Brendan O’Hagan and Liam Harris for a starting berth in the halves.

Winger Joe Brown will also be looking to back up a try-scoring appearance against Barrow in what would be his first appearance against his former club, having joined the Knights from Bradford ahead of this season.

Tickets will be available up to kick-off on Sunday ahead of the match at Bradford, priced at Β£20 for adults, Β£17 for concessions and free for under-16s.
