York City Knights are pleased to announce that forward Josh Jordan-Roberts becomes the 20th player to join James Ford’s squad for the 2020 Betfred Championship season.

The 21 year old initially joined the Knights from Leeds Rhinos in July 2018 on an 18 month permanent deal and scored 3 tries in 7 games during the Betfred League 1 title-clinching run in, and went on to make 19 appearances in 2019, scoring 3 more tries as York sealed a memorable third place finish in the Championship.

Knights Head Coach James Ford said: “Josh has the potential to be a good player for York if he is willing to work hard at one or two areas of his game. He’s still very young and has played plenty of first team rugby at a solid level – but as everyone at the club realises we strive for much more than solid.

“The challenge has been set and I’m looking forward to seeing Josh succeed.”

Jordan-Roberts added: “Really pleased to be resigning with the club. I’ve really enjoyed my time with the club since signing mid way through the 2018.

“The club is certainly on the rise and I’m looking forward to what’s to come in 2020 both on and off the field.”

The 20 players now currently signed on for 2020 are: Joe Porter, Sam Scott, Jack Teanby, Jason Bass, Connor Robinson, Kriss Brining, Matty Marsh, Perry Whiteley, Ronan Dixon, Will Jubb, Jordan Baldwinson, Brad Hey, Liam Salter, Marcus Stock, Danny Washbrook, Chris Clarkson, James Green, Ben Johnston and Will Sharp.
