York City Knights are delighted to announce that teenage prop Ronan Dixon has signed an extended deal for two more seasons in the Minster city.

The new deal – which runs to the end of 2019 – is a just reward for a promising young player who has performed well so far this season. Head Coach James Ford sees Dixon as one of a group of talented individuals showing potential who will grow in our system and play an important part in the years to come. These players buy into the culture and make maximum use of the facilities and coaching provided at the Knights.

Commenting on his new deal, Dixon said: “The club has been really good to me and I’m enjoying my time here. I’m glad to see things are going so well and I feel that I am improving week in week out both individually and as part of this team. I can’t wait to see what the future is holding for us!”

James Ford was happy to tie down the 6ft 3in former Wakefield forward, saying: “I’m delighted to resign Ronan for 2 additional seasons. He has shown plenty of desire to work hard and a really impressive mentality towards improvement. He’s done pretty well for a 19 year old middle, and as he grows and matures I’m positive he’ll develop into a fine player – as long as he maintains his current attitude.”

The Knights next travel to Oxford this Sunday, 9th April. To book your place on the official supporters bus ring York Pullman 01904 622992 and speak to Anne who will deal with your booking. The office is open 8.30am-5pm weekdays.
