Knights set to host Bootham Crescent double header!
York City Knights are set to host a fantastic afternoon of rugby league at Bootham Crescent with a special double header this Sunday, 20th May.
First up, the mens team go in search of a ninth consecutive Betfred League 1 victory to keep the pressure on leaders Bradford Bulls when they take on Hemel Stags at 3pm.
York City Knights Ladies will then take centre stage at 5pm when they take on Featherstone Rovers in the Women’s Super League.
Knights General Manager Neil Gulliver is looking forward to both teams putting on a show: “This is a great opportunity for the entire club and fan base to get behind the Women, as they seek to claim their first victory of this exciting inaugural Super League season against Featherstone.”
“Knights fans have been absolutely fantastic at Bootham Crescent this year, and I’m sure they will be thrilled by the skill levels and hits on show in this new elite womens competition.”
Knights Ladies Head Coach Daryl North said: “The step up to the Super League has been a big ask so far, but the girls are enjoying the competition. A win is just around the corner and Bootham Crescent in front of our own fans would be a good place to do it.
“It would be massive, and we would only be able to kick on and get better as a team. Hopefully with the fans behind us it will give us that extra boost.”
Tickets for the afternoon are priced at £15 Adults, £10 Concessions and FREE for anyone under the age of 16. Gates open at 1.30pm and a number of local junior teams will be playing on the pitch before the first game.
