York City Knights are pleased to announce that forward Dave Petersen has joined the club for the 2019 Betfred Championship season.

The 26 year old started his career at Hull KR and has had spells with Workington, Oxford, Sheffield Eagles, Bradford Bulls and Batley in this country, as well as Mackay Cutters in Australia and Boston 13s in the USA.

Petersen linked up with the Knights before Christmas and featured as a trialist in the Boxing Day friendly at Bradford Bulls, impressing Head Coach James Ford enough to earn a contract:

“We’ve all been impressed with Dave’s attitude towards all aspects of our preparation. On Boxing Day he demonstrated a very good work ethic, versatility to play in two key positions and a good level of skill.

“As Dave spends more time with us I’m sure his approach will see him develop further and make a positive impact on our performances.”

Petersen is in the Knights squad to take on Hunslet Club Parkside as pre-season preparations step up a level at Tetley’s Stadium in Dewsbury at 1pm tomorrow (Saturday 5th January) in the first round of the Yorkshire Cup, sponsored by K2 and Berry’s.
