York City Knights are delighted to announce that influential half back Connor Robinson has signed a new deal for 2020.

The 24 year old initially came through the academy ranks at Hull KR and made his Super League debut against London Broncos in 2014, before moving to Halifax in 2015 after impressing on dual registration. From there he moved to the Knights midway through 2017 on a 2.5 year deal, and went on to score points in every one of his first 30 appearances.

Robinson was an influential figure in the Knights march to the League 1 title in a glittering 2018, scoring an incredible 404 points in 27 appearances, and was the division’s Player of the Year, as well as the Knights Supporters Club Player of the Year, York Press Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year, and more recently the Active York Sports Person of the Year.

He carried that good form into 2019 as the Knights currently sit in second place in the Betfred Championship after 21 rounds, scoring 195 points in 20 appearances to date.

Knights Head Coach James Ford said: “I’m really pleased that Connor has decided to re-sign with York. He’s played an important role in the development of the team and club since he came here.

“I believe Connor is one of the country’s best young halfbacks and if he continues to strive for improvement on and off the field I’m positive he will continue to develop.”

Connor has his attentions firmly sighted on what is potentially the biggest game of the season when former Super League and World Club Champions Bradford Bulls visit Bootham Crescent this Sunday, 21st July (3pm).
