February half Term saw the first set of York City Knights Embed the Pathway sessions of 2017 for players aged from Under 12s through to Under 16s take place. The sessions, which are designed to develop the skills of all players as part of the Rugby Football Leagues player development system, take place at York St John University Sports Park using their state of the art training facilities where the Knights 1st team train.

Sessions look to develop players technical, physical and tactical understanding of the game as well as developing a players understanding and knowledge on their own levels in relation to each of these areas.

Each of the young players taking part should great skills, enthusiasm and commitment throughout the sessions and it certainly showed there is a strong future in the game locally and that local clubs are doing a great job of developing these future Knights stars.

The next set of sessions will be in the Easter holiday on the 10th April for boys aged Under 12s- 16s and on the 11th April we will be hosting our first ever girls only session for 12-16 year olds. Both days are free of charge but are limited so advanced booking is suggested. Bookings can be made by emailing n.gulliver@yorkcityknights.com.
