Our successful health and fitness programme is now in its fourth year of delivery, helping dozens of people reach their goals to lead a healthier lifestyle. Delivery takes place on a Wednesday evening in 8-week blocks. The next block is due to start on Wednesday 20th January 8-9pm.
The programme is open to men and women who want to make a positive change to their health. Pre-lockdown, sessions were held at York St John University, Haxby Rd Sports Park and used full access with occasional lifestyle and health advice sessions. As a result of current restrictions sessions have temporarily moved online to continue of support
This programme is suitable for an individual who would class themselves as having an intermediate or advanced level of activity or training background.
Your instructor will be Martin Bond whose qualifications include M.Sc. Sport and Exercise Psychology B.Sc. Sport and Exercise Science (2:1) Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) PhD Candidate. Martin has wealth of experience and qualifications and is responsible for a diverse range of responsibilities, including lecturing at York St John University, developing inclusive sport and applying for external funding. With 20+ years’ experience of working with in sport and exercise we are proud to have Martin on board as part of our team of delivers. The sessions are aimed at our participants, so we will do our best to provide something for everyone.

Following on from the success of our FitKnight programme, we formed a new partnership with York MIND in order to launch of FitKnight Lite programme. This programme brings men and women together, who may lack a little confidence around their health and fitness.
Our FitKnight Lite sessions will offer a space to share hints & tips on improving health and well-being, followed by fun exercise sessions. The sessions are run in blocks of 8 weeks aiming to build on each week to provide safe and welcoming sessions.
A typical session will consist of a warm-up, main component, and cool-down. These sessions are tailored to suit the needs of individuals, as such, group feedback is welcomed. We will do our best to provide something for everyone, so that everyone enjoys the classes.
This programme is suitable for beginners or those who have not been in consistent exercise regime for a period of time and looking to ease themselves back into a more active lifestyle.
