Knights thrash Warrington in WSL rout!: - Betfred Women's Super League
York City Knights Ladies took another huge step towards a top four finish with a 62-0 victory over Warrington Wolves.
In what was their first outing since June’s Challenge Cup final, the Knights ran in 11 tries at the Asics Stadium in Warrington.
It proved to be a confidence-boosting win ahead of next week’s clash against Wigan Warriors.
Sinead Peach opened the scoring in the seventh minute and was soon joined on the scoresheet by Tamzin Renouf. Two successful kicks by Emma Hardy improved York’s early lead to 12-0.
Warrington put on a physical display and proved hard to crack in the opening half. York had to wait 23 minutes before finding another breakthrough when Savannah Andrade crossed for her first effort since the Challenge Cup semi-final.
Moments later, Renouf scored her second of the game as the Knights took at 24-0 lead into the interval.
After the break, the visitors turned up the heat. Katie Langan grabbed a try in the 42nd minute while Rhiannion Marshall did the same just 10 minutes later.
Alisha Clayton scored her second effort in three games after touching down in the 58th minute. Shortly after the restart, Peach grabbed her second of the game as Hardy’s eighth successive conversion moved the Knights 48-0 in-front.
