York City Knights scored their seventh consecutive Betfred League 1 victory by beating old rivals Hunslet on Sunday, but were made to work hard for it at a scorching hot South Leeds Stadium. The Knights handed dual registered Will Dagger a last-minute debut at full back, and the youngster showed touches of class despite playing in an unfamiliar team. Awesome Knights set new World Record

A relentless 80 minute performance saw York City Knights run in an incredible 25 tries on their way to setting a new world record score, beating West Wales Raiders 144-0 at Bootham Crescent. The previous highest score was set by Huddersfield back in November 1994 when they beat Blackpool Gladiators 142-4. The Knights also beat the widest winning margin, which was shared between Huddersfield and Barrow, who beat Nottingham City 138-0 a day after Huddersfield had set their record. Catalans Dragons were pushed all the way by York City Knights in a pulsating Ladbrokes Challenge Cup round five tie at Bootham Crescent today. With just ten minutes remaining the Knights of League 1 were still within touching distance of their Super League opponents, before late tries from Jodie Broughton and Greg Bird ensured that the Dragons would go into the hat for round six. York City Knights recorded their seventh consecutive victory to maintain the pressure at the top of Betfred League 1, running out comfortable 66-6 winners over London Skolars at an overcast Bootham Crescent. Experienced forwards Adam Robinson and Graeme Horne were rotated for Chris Siddons and Dan Hawksworth, Mike Kelly filled in for Joe Batchelor who dropped out for concussion, and on-loan St Helens hooker Aaron Smith was preferred to Will Jubb. York City Knights produced another big defensive performance to record their sixth straight victory at Newcastle Thunder and move joint-top of the Betfred League 1 table after five rounds.
