York City Knights produced yet another battling performance yesterday to see off a resolute Doncaster side in energy-sapping humid conditions at Bootham Crescent. Their fifth consecutive Betfred League 1 victory sees them remain just two points behind leaders Bradford and importantly six points clear of third placed Oldham with ten rounds remaining. James Ford celebrated his 100th game in charge of York City Knights by watching his team produce a strong performance in the Bootham Crescent sun to beat Workington Town 40-8. A nightmare second half show at the Recreation Ground saw York City Knights surrender an 8-18 half time lead over Whitehaven and suffer their first Betfred league 1 defeat since the opening day of the season. Awesome Knights set new World Record

A relentless 80 minute performance saw York City Knights run in an incredible 25 tries on their way to setting a new world record score, beating West Wales Raiders 144-0 at Bootham Crescent. The previous highest score was set by Huddersfield back in November 1994 when they beat Blackpool Gladiators 142-4. The Knights also beat the widest winning margin, which was shared between Huddersfield and Barrow, who beat Nottingham City 138-0 a day after Huddersfield had set their record.
