York City Knights (0) 0-26 (14) Wigan Warriors A spirited Knights performance saw James Ford’s team leave Friday’s match against Wigan Warriors in Round Three of the Betfred Challenge Cup with their reputation enhanced, despite a 26-0 defeat. Missing several first-choice players through injury, a much-changed Knights team took to the field from the one which lost 6-21 to Toulouse Olympique last Saturday. A hardly fought opening ten minutes saw the visitors lose former Knight Junior Vaivai and winger Latrell Schaumkel, both to head knocks – which neither returned from. London Broncos (2) 2-14 (0) York City Knights A strong defensive showing helped the Knights to a 14-2 over London Broncos at Rosslyn Park this afternoon, sealing our spot in Round Three of the Betfred Challenge Cup and semi-finals of The 1895 Cup. A brave York City Knights were beaten 28-22 by Hull FC in their first game at the LNER Community Stadium. The Knights were 22 points behind against the Betfred Super League contenders by the hour mark having fallen behind in the opening minutes.
