York City Knights produced a flawless display in sunshine and showers at Bootham Crescent yesterday, running in eleven tries and keeping a clean sheet to beat Rochdale Hornets 60-0 and stay right in the thrilling Betfred Championship play off race. York City Knights are just two wins from Wembley after a hard fought 30-16 win over Newcastle Thunder in humid conditions at Bootham Crescent in the second round of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup. York City Knights endured a nightmare trip to the Blackpool Summer Bash yesterday, as they suffered a bruising defeat to a Dane Chisholm inspired Featherstone Rovers for the second time this season. Head Coach James Ford handed debuts to all three midweek loan signings Harry Aldous (prop), Tyler Dupree (substitute forward) and Liam Harris (full back). York City Knights withstood a strong second half performance from Batley Bulldogs at a chilly Bootham Crescent yesterday, to emerge 28-24 winners and move back into the Betfred Championship play-off places. Knights Captain Tim Spears returned from injury to face his old club, and Graeme Horne also came back into the team.
